Owning Land in Thailand

In general, Thai law does not permit foreigners to own land in their name. However, those wishing to own land have a few options:

  • Forming a Thai company (Thai partners upto 51%) and purchasing the property through the company
  • Leasehold on land for 30 years
  • You are lucky if you are married with a Thai citizen!

 

It can be tricky and complicate process. It is also important to make sure the deed is valid and updated so the due diligent is a good idea. We advise you have an expert or talk with us for more information.
